DID YOU KNOW that the Complaints Commission was established by the Montserrat Constitution Order of 2010?

DID YOU KNOW that the Commission is administered by the Constitution & Commissions Secretariat of the Office of the Legislature?

DID YOU KNOW that the Complaints Commission comprises a Chairman and two other members, appointed by the Governor on the advice of Cabinet?

DID YOU KNOW that at least one member of the Commission must be an Attorney-At-Law who possesses at least fifteen years standing at the bar?

DID YOU KNOW that the Commission may on its own volition investigate any matter on the ground that a person or body of persons has or may have sustained an injustice as a result of maladministration ,a breach or infringement of a human right, or as prescribed by any other law?

DID YOU KNOW the powers of investigation of the Commission are the same as those of a High Court, although not bounded by the rules of the court.

DID YOU KNOW that the investigative powers of the Commission include the power to summon witnesses and to require confidential documents relating to complaints received.

DID YOU KNOW that the Commission may in the public interest undertake or continue an investigation into a complaint even if the complaint is withdrawn by the complainant.

DID YOU KNOW that where maladministration is found the Commission may make recommendation aimed at improving the Public Service.

DID YOU KNOW that members of the Commission are persons with high public standing and have a reputation for personal integrity?

DID YOU KNOW that a report may be made to the Commission by any person alleging maladministration within the Public Service or the breach of human right?

DID YOU KNOW that if at any time the Commission issues a report and there is non compliance with its recommendations, the Commission may submit a special report on the matter to the Governor.

DID YOU KNOW that a complaint is made on forms provided by the Secretariat of the Commission.

DID YOU KNOW that a person is not required to pay any fee in respect of the handling of a complaint or for any mediation or investigation.
